Postage Rates go up again
The U.S. Postal Service is raising the price of stamps again. I know the price is only going up 2 cents up to 44 cents a stamp. Some people may say no big deal. But yet in the current economy and tight times we are all trying to save money where we can. It doesn’t help when the cost of something we may use a lot goes up. So what can you do if you use a lot of stamps?

Time to save on Postage
There are many ways to save on postage that you may already do or you may not feel comfortable doing. But it may be the time to step out on the edge and try something different if it can save you money. A quote I heard at work Sunday was: ” Today I will do what I fear most, Thus I will control my fear” So why not start today saving money on stamps? How can you do this?
A few ways to try to save on Postage
1. Pay your bills electronically each month instead of using a stamp. If you pay ten bills a month you would save $52.80. 2. What about sending electronic Christmas and Birthday and other special occasions to people instead of mailing them out. Think if you send out a 100 a year you would save another $44 a year. Also you would save on the cost of cards. If an average cost of a card is $2.99 than you would save another $299 a year. 3. Do you still mail letters or post cards to people? Why not send them e-mails or texts to say hi instead. I know some people don’t like texts or e-mails but it is picking up on popularity and could save you a lot of money. Let’s say you send out a 100 a year. You would save another $44 a year on postage and also the cost of an envelope and paper and ink for your printer. Let’s say that is another 10 cents per letter that could be another $10 a year.
What other areas can you save
We just talked about a few ways to save on postage. Think if we broke down other areas that the cost is going up and getting expensive and see how much we could save.
