Neveda Unemployment Rate is 10.1% in February
In Las Vegas there is a lot of construction going on. For instance if the $8.7 billion City Center project falls a part it can cause the unemployment rate to raise even more. When I was in Las Vegas everyone was saying how slow it was there even though I thought it was busy. When in a major Casino on the new part of the strip they said all there Casino’s were on sale and trying to make there loan payment in Bankruptcy. Watching the news on TV here in Minnesota it seems like they keep saying about the rising unemployment rate. Seems like it is always depressing news.
Are you prepared for unemployment
We can worry ourselves to death but it won’t do anything but ruin our day. Like they say about worrying “Worrying is like a Rocking Chair, it is something to do but doesn’t get you anywhere” So why worry. Why not go to work every day and do your best. Work hard, ask for extra projects, keep a positive attitude and don’t watch the clock. I still feel it you can be above average in your office you will have a lot better chance at keeping your job.
What else besides hard work should you do
Why not work on building up a emergency cash fund of savings. So that way if something did happen you could still make your payments. Some people say you should have three to six months of living expenses in savings so if you lose your job. I feel the way the job market is currently why not keep saving and work towards twelve months of savings. Worst case scenario is if the economy recovers in six months you have some extra savings you could invest.
What are your thoughts
Let me know how many months you feel people should have. Other ideas of what people should do to make themselves more employable. I still believe in a positive attitude, professional dress and a hard worker has a good chance of employments.
