Chrysler is closing up some dealerships
What effect will Chrysler closing up some dealerships have on us or the economy? How many are they going to close? Well according to CNN Chrysler LLC will close down 789 dealerships, or roughly 25% of the current number, according to a plan filed in bankruptcy court Thursday. Yes, it is another negative news article about more jobs lost being talked about. But talking with a friend on the phone today we talked about:

The Other Effects of Dealerships Closing
One sad effect is on the poor people who will lost their jobs. The families that relied on the income to pay their monthly payments. My prayers are with them and their families during this time for sure. The human side is tough for any business decision. But what if Chrysler keeps them open?
Keep open all the dealerships
Of course part of doing business is making money. If you don’t make money you can’t pay your bills or pay your employees for their hard work. So if keeping the dealerships all open could cause all dealerships to close up someday than they need to be closed now of course.
Bankruptcy Plan
Yes, they need to come up with a plan on how to get the company back on track and making money. If you have never been part of running a business than it is not different than your home budget. You have so much income coming in and that has to be enough to pay your bills. If not you can borrow money to cover your shortfall, but eventually all the money borrowed has to be paid back and can turn into a large snowball.
History of Business Closing
THe town I work in I found out there used to be a Wards and a K-Mart store in town. Then they closed up because they couldn’t make it. How many businesses have you scene come and go? One thing about a business closing is another one seems to open up with another business plan and ideas. I know everyone can have different views on if the government should bail them out more to keep them open or not.

I have had some people write me that they didn’t like my views on the government bailout. Remember they are only my views. I have no crystal ball.
